PhotoVerse App Reviews

40 add

Titles only

takes WAY too long to load, cant do more than browse titles

Can get the same with RSS feeds.

I like the app, however I think one can get so much more from getting an RSS feed from the sites that this app covers. If you use Google Reader or other such RSS viewer, then you have many more options, saving, sharing, etc. Just follow a few photographers or sites such as DIY photography, PIXIQ, etc and eventually youll figure out the feeds to follow.

Excellent

Great app for any photography enthusiast

Great way to keep up with the photo industry!

So many photography websites, so little time! Many people use an RSS reader like Google Reader to stay up to date and thats awesome if youre sitting at your computer, but what if youre out? PhotoVerse gives you a simple and clean interface to keep up with the photo industry no matter where you are. The app covers news, tips, how-tos, reviews, photo blogs, and more. Right now it pulls in the headlines from the most popular sites out there but it would be nice if it also displayed more of a post summary so you could decide if you really wanted to read it. With one tap on the headline it takes you to the article using mobile Safari. If the blog publisher hasnt optimized their site for mobile it may be hard to read without zooming and scrolling but those who use WPTouch (or similar), it makes for a pretty decent mobile experience. This is a great app for photographers and for 99 cents you cant go wrong.

One of the most useful photography apps

This app occupies the top leftmost corner spot on a page i created on my iphone for photography related apps because I use it everyday. In fact its my most-often used photo app. Let me tell you why. This app collects news and posts from a variety of sources on the web. The authors are photo enthusiasts like myself and the sites are well-chosen for quality and timeliness. They are also grouped by topic such as news, lighting or postprocessing to keep it organized. There is also a tab to show the most recent articles from your favorite sites (the list is customizable) allowing you to stay on top of the latest buzz easily. When you pull up an article it shows up in a built-in browser that presents the page with formatting preserved and looks similar to how the page appears in safari. Its very easy to share articles i like via twitter, facebook, or email with just one button. The app is very well thought out by its authors who have been adding new and useful features with every version. For example 1.4 added a thumbnail to each article showing the photo illustrating the story. That makes it easy for visually oriented folks like us to peruse articles. Another example is that after you read an article it becomes gray making it easy to distinguish from new articles. There are a lot of nice touches like that. In reply to one criticism above its NOT true that only the title shows up. You can of course click on an item on the list and read the entire article, with pictures and formatting, even comments. It is no slower at loading pages than safari. At its current discount price or even its full price this is a tremendous timesaver and a must-buy for any photographer (pro or otherwise) who wants to stay on top of the latest news or improve their skills.

Fairly awful on a technical level

After downloading and starting the app, it updated for about 30 seconds and then crashed. So, I re-started it, and it loaded fine. I looked at two or three articles on the start screen, then scrolled down. This time the app froze. Fortunately, the Home button still worked. I loaded it up again, scrolled down two screens and it froze again. The one star is for technical performance. I cant rate it for content, freshness or coverage - the app itself isnt stable enough for that. I will try again if/when there is an update.

AWESOME Photo App a MUST for any photographer1

I am a big fan of photography blogs and news sites and have been using several different Mobile RSS Readers for awhile now. A friend turned me onto PhotoVerse and is is perfect! All the best photography news in one place updated automatically every day. This is a MUST have app for any new or experienced photographer.

Fantastic!

PhotoVerse is absolutely fantastic! It is one of the few apps I use daily on my IPad. A must for any photographer or hobbyist of any level!

Love this app

A great collection of photography related references all in one portal. If youre a photographer you need this app, well worth the small price.

Page rendering needs work

The content this app shows is great. And although as others have stated you can probably get all this content via the RSS from the various sites, I actually like having it in a separate application. However, the page rendering just seems wrong. Comparing the pages to the same page viewed in Safari the text seems too big. The end result is often that the page does not flow correctly and things end up being drawn on top of each other

Awesome App

Great app for all my photography news, ideas and information all in one place with readitlater integration and most importantly; outstanding customer service.

A Photography MUST HAVE!

I love this app.! It provides me with the latest news in the photography world along with introducing me to great new photographers.

Love the app

Great way to keep up to date!

Too Bad there is no 6Star rating Scale. I give it an easy 5Star

I am a photographer and this app educates/entertains me (and will do the same to you) with one tap! All the blogs I used to read by visiting different URLs are right here in this app. I ended up putting this on my front page. Every time I get chance my fav. blogs are ready.

Read it Later login doesnt work

I already have an ID & password for Read It Later, but when I try to use RIL from Photoverse, it wont take my login information. RIL works fine from other aggregator apps, such as Zite. Get this feature working and thisll be a 5 star app.

Love this app!

Best information app around covering the industry, art, and people . Great source!

Everything in one place + More!

If you love photography and want to stay "up to date", this apps for you. Learn, listen and watch all in one place. I wouldnt want to be without!!!

Keeps crashing when trying edit the watch list.

I love the idea of this. Was so excited when I bought it but I cant edit the watch list without it crashing (and not saving my changes). Hoping it gets fixed soon.

Good app, no updates

Its unfortunate that this app has not been updated in years. It looks like developers have left it forgotten. Time for me to move on as well.

App is Great but needs updating

This app has been the same for forever. No updates since 2011. I have iPhone 6 Plus and the app does not take advantage of the screen real estate and resolution. Content is there just needs a refresh.
